Lake Erie |
Here in Monroe we live on Lake Erie. We swim in it, boat on it, fish from it (the "walleye capital of the world"), and beach next to it. I do many of my solitary prayer times at our state park on the lake.
Years ago it was threatened by pollution but made a comeback and became a poster child for ecological recovery. Today's nytimes headlines read: "Spring Rain, Then Foul Algae in Ailing Lake Erie."
