Forty minutes from our home in Monroe is the beating heart of Islam in America - The Islamic Center of America. I'll be taking my RMS students there for a tour on May 8. Our host will be my friend Eide Alawan, director of the office of interfaith outreach at the Center. Eide has hosted us before. A good portion of what I know about Islam I have learned from him.
